Cleft Palate Gallop 5k
October 5, 2013 @ 7:15 am - 10:00 am
Miles for Smiles, a UNC Dental School organization, will be hosting their annual Cleft Palate Gallop 5K on October 5th. All profits from the race will be donated to help cover the treatment costs of children with cleft lip/palate. (www.cleftpalategallop.com)
The 5K run will begin at the Old Well at 9am. They are looking for 25 pre-dents to volunteer at the event; this will consist of signing in runners, making sure people stay on course, etc. Volunteers will need to be there at 7:15am until the end of the race (around 10am).
They also need as many runners as possible! There is a one mile “fun walk” if you do not want to run the 5K. Both volunteering at the event and running/walking in the race will earn you points! Participating in the race is a GREAT way to meet dental students and faculty from the UNC Dental School. Registration for the race is $20 and you will receive a timing chip and race t-shirt .

*Note: If you would like to receive a t-shirt, but don’t want to run (or are volunteering), you can still register and receive one. Your $20 will act as a donation to the Craniofacial Center.
